THE ACADEMY AT SAN ELIJO

The Academy at San Elijo will be a 501 (c) 3 not for profit community sports club. The purpose of the club will be to provide a fun, safe, and positive sports oriented environment for children pre-k through 12 to thrive in. Phase 1 of the project will consist of soccer, baseball/softball, swimming pool, and skate/bmx park. The added value of this project will be sport specific training for all kids regardless of age and ability. This will include speed, agility, and strength training with an overall emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, fitness and nutrition. There will also be activities for parents including a fitness center, and personal training.
This project is in the initial phase and will require overwhelming support from both the community of San Elijo as well as the city of San Marcos. We are in discussions with the owner of the vacant recycling building at 1601 San Elijo Rd. The organization is looking to align itself with the city of San Marcos, San Marcos schools, and highly reputable professional athletes and sports organizations. This will be a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that will depend on donations, fundraisers, and membership dues. A portion of all proceeds will go back into the community, including local schools and parks.
Our Philosophy
The Academy at San Elijo is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The Academy has a commitment to excellence in being the premier development academy for youth athletes in North County San Diego. The Academy approach accommodates and accepts that youth athletes still have a lot of learning and growing to do. It recognizes that putting them in an environment where they would receive more training is more developmentally appropriate. This approach will allow us to foster development over winning. Success is a byproduct of player development. Parents and coach’s have roles and responsibilities, as well as taking care of their actions without letting them undermine our real purpose. With youth athletes it is the coach’s job to develop all players without discretion of ability. The Academy will provide a fun, safe, and positive environment for these youth athletes to not only develop as athletes, but as individuals! The developmental years are so critical to these youth athletes. The Academy at San Elijo is committed to providing all youth athletes the opportunity to develop their game(s), as well as inspire a lifelong passion!
